I had the opportunity to spend the week in Bahia Ballena with Bodhi Surf School and at Bodhi Bungalows. My husband and I are always delighted and amazed with the crew at Bodhi Surf School and Yoga. We love Travis, Pilar, Gibran and Adrianne and feel like they have become family. Thank you all for your expertise, patience and personal touch. On this trip, I had to travel alone to Bahia Ballena but had the pleasure of staying in the brand new Bodhi Bungalow. It is in the sweetest out of the way "neighborhood" location with wildlife galore, peace and tranquility. The bungalow has absolutely everything necessary for a long self sufficient stay... and the mattresses are to die for! I slept, walked, worked (yes it has wifi), cooked local fare and just had a marvelous and restful time. The same Bodhi crew was there checking on me and available for any need I might have. I didn't get to practice yoga on this trip but Bodhi has also built a beautiful two story yoga platform within steps of the front door. I will be returning again and again...the next time with my husband!

Amazing afternoon with a friend learning how to surf and... we did it!

What an amazing place to be with excellent tips to learn the basics of surf! The water is hot and the sea marvelous. Waves are goods and it's a 360 degres nature experience. Muchas gracias Gibran! Can't wait to go back!

Going stand up paddle boarding with the folks at Bodhi Surf guarantees you a fabulous day. To be out on the open water gives you such an amazing view of one of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches. I was in awe all day. Looking into the clear water and seeing different fish, coral, jellyfish and more was so neat to experience. The paddle boarding itself was excellent exercise that seemed effortless to achieve. You are just having too much fun to think you're getting a workout. The instructors are super nice, friendly and real. They were so fun to hang out with in the calm waters of the Whale's tail. You can tell they love what they do and want others to get to experience it for themselves. We had a blast floating around, trying out yoga poses and falling/jumping off the boards all afternoon. I would definitely do this again and again if I could. I'll never forget our day out on the water!!!

Finally my wife and I decided to learn how to surf. We had no experience at all. At Bodhi Surf they took all time to learn us the basic principles and guided us in our first steps/waves. After the first lesson we both knew how to start, peddle, get up, fall down (a lot), correct en even surf! This was beyond our expectations.
Travis instructed us with a lot of patience, knowledge and fun. Thanks for all your support and we will hit the waves the next few weeks with a lot of confidence.

After a near 40 year hiatus from surfing I hit the waves again - with Gibran and Adrianne. It was a tremendously fun 2 days. Both Gibran and Adrianne are great instructors and they tailor their presentations to the group.
It was so much fun to get back in the waves and with Gibran\'s encouragement I felt like and old (non)pro. Stand-up paddle boarding and snorkeling were great fun too. Our first experience stand-up paddling was outstanding.

We were vacationing in Ojochal, and looking for an exciting activity. My son wanted to try surfing, and I said I would go along - but I did not really think that I could do it. So we signed up for a 2-hour lesson with Bodhi Surf. What a great experience that was! When Gibran asked if I was surfing, I answered: 'I am going to try.' He replied: You are going to surf! Which I did! Their teaching system is designed to give you the confidence that is required to get up and stay up on that board. My son and I were both surfing on the first lesson, and we were back the next day for more! Now, at age 53, I am proud to say I am a surfer! And I am looking forward to the next time. Thanks guys!

My husband and our four daughters flew to costa rica from Boston over christmas. It was the best holiday we've ever had. The reason - the good people of Bodhi Surf! They are truly amazing and made our trip beyond expectations. They made it all so easy - transportation from san jose, lodging, other activities, restaurant recs, etc. etc. They even came to our hotel to say hello, review our itinerary and answer any questions. Every single thing we did with Bodhi exceeded expectations. They are skilled instructors, the waters of Uvita are perfect and warm and beauitful, they are enthusiastic and kind and they were particularly attentive to the safety of our youngest, while making it really fun for my husband and older daughter who were more adventurous. Also THE YOGA IS NOT TO BE MISSED. If you are a beginner or advanced, the experience of yoga with the lovely Pilar is a must do. The setting is nearly as lovely as Pilar. This truly was an amazing experience for our whole family. We were outside, being active, having fun, enjoying the gorgeous scenery and anything we needed the good people at Bodhi helped us with. We were truly treated like welcome guests. You won't find a better place to surf, do yoga, spend time and enjoy the riches of Costa Rica than through Bodhi Surf.
